ARK at Egwood CIC
ARK at Egwood CIC is an inter-generational, therapeutic, land-based day provision based upon 12 acres of land in the beautiful South Somerset countryside. Our activities include, animal husbandry, horticulture, rural arts and crafts, wood whittling, cookery and a plethora of one off activities for our attendees and volunteers. We support people with both physical and mental health needs, whether that be a learning disability, brain injury, stress and anxiety or just wanting to combat social isolation or build confidence. We are a small team wanting our organisation to be a community facility benefiting local people with a range of needs.
We have an amazing group of volunteers that support and help us, giving us practical help, expertise and skills in planting, biodiversity, building and mentoring and supporting our attendees.
The demand for our services is continuous and we have on average 50 people each day on site. We are helping people to build confidence and reduce anxiety, so that they can once again become active, happy members of their community. We also provide community lunches, using our own produce, in the local village halls to help local residents combat social isolation.
