Aspire's aim is to provide great services to adults with learning disabilities which enable them to have fulfilling lives. We want the people we support to live, learn and play an active and meaningful role in the local community. Through high quality, person-centred, services we offer people choice so they have greater control and influence over their lives, have a lifestyle which promotes independence and determine, as far as possible, what support they receive and how they spend their time.
Why the community needs usAspire provides local services for local people. We are proud to be a Mindful Employer; we recruit locally and buy local wherever possible. We are passionate not only about developing, recognising and rewarding our own staff, but also providing learning opportunities for developing the support workers of the future. To this end Aspire provides apprenticeships, We Care Academy training and work placements for nursing and occupational therapy students.
Our impact on the communityAspire supports more than 900 adults with a learning disability and their family carers through 3 services: our day services provide a range of opportunities for people to engage in healthy, safe and purposeful daytime activities; our supported living services provide the opportunity for people to live in their own homes or small group settings and our respite/crisis services provide both planned short-stays which enable family carers to have a break from their caring role and emergency stays.
