For mental health struggles, sitting in a closed room and talking sometimes just doesn’t alleviate the pain and difficulties that come from stress, grief, PTSD or social anxiety. Long waiting list, trips to the GP and repeat prescriptions sometimes don’t lead to recovery or wellbeing.

Our Centre for Animal and Nature Assisted Therapy offers another option. In woodland or open countryside and with birds of prey or other animals, a skilled practitioner guides each client to feel connected at a deep level with therapy animals and the natural surroundings.

In 1 to 1 or group sessions, clients use and trust their senses, finding instinctive ways to feel better with the help of the animals and nature. Even clients with deep held trauma can feel safe and at ease enough to face the root of their mental health challenges and find resolution, with profound long-term benefits.

Donations make this truly life-changing therapy a reality for those who need it urgently, to reach children and adults who have tried everything else and are feeling truly hopeless. You've heard this phrase so many times, but it's true, every little bit helps...

Thank you so much for your interest and support.

CANAT is a CIC, a non-profit initiative founded by Dr Karen Stead-Dexter, an environmentalist and nature therapist. Find out more here.
