CHAT (Churches Housing Action Team) works to tackle homelessness, avoid evictions, and bring hope to the communities of Mid Devon.
We believe that everyone should be entitled to food to eat, decent, secure, affordable accommodation and somewhere to call home.

Our Debt and Money support focuses on helping those who need help, manage their money for a more secure future. Talking about money is not an easy subject for many people, we are non-judgemental and patient, working at the client’s pace to find the best possible outcome.

Our Tenancy and Housing support collaborates with people who are threatened with homelessness or needing help negotiating with their landlord, finding accommodation, or living in accommodation that is not at an acceptable standard. We help support our clients to keep their homes and continue living a full life.

The Foodbank is open 5 days a week and provides vital food and household items to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship and often living in poverty. It is a first port of call for those who are struggling and give us an opportunity to get to know them & find out more about their personal circumstances and how we may be able to positively turn their lives around.
We offer a variety of different food packs including rough sleeper packs, booster packs to top up a monthly shop and crisis packs which last around 7 days and are often the first pack people receive.
