Established in 2017, the Chinese In Wales Association (CIWA) is a UK-registered charity based in Swansea, dedicated to supporting individuals of Chinese heritage across Wales. Our mission is to make a positive impact on their lives by providing essential support services, fostering cultural exchange, and promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and community cohesion within the wider community.

Since our inception, we have served over 600 households by offering a diverse range of services tailored to meet the evolving needs of our community. These services include language support, advice and advocacy, an information service, case referrals, counselling services, and various social, cultural, and educational activities designed to empower and engage our members.

Additionally, CIWA plays a crucial role in creating opportunities for young people through volunteering, internships, and paid work placements, enabling them to gain valuable employability skills and work experience.

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains steadfast: to ensure that individuals of Chinese heritage in Wales have equitable access to opportunities and a strong sense of belonging, contributing to a more inclusive society for all.
