Equal People mencap support vulnerable individuals - particularly those with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. We offer a weekly programme of activities and training groups and events, both online and in person. Our Network Hope Project has catering, gardening & IT training and music, yoga. Zumba massage, arts and crafts, boccia, and social groups at our Resource Centre in Ladbroke Grove and sport, swimming and keep-fit groups out in the community. Evening and week-end trips to events cross London are a regular feature. We regularly host employment, health, advocacy and community safety workshops.
Our Floating Support and Family support workers staff continue to provide 1:1 support with all aspects of independent living and community participation including personal care, cooking, shopping, collecting and monitoring medication and helping people to stay safe whilst pursuing their aims and dreams. Our on-call service means support is available 24 hours a day.
Why the community needs us
We support vulnerable individuals to be heard and to be valued and to access, participate in, contribute to and influence their local and the wider community. We are a resource of information, advice support and respite for parents and carers. We are helping keep people to stay in contact with their friends and the help and support they need to stay safe, fit and well.
