Roots Cafe
The café started in 2018 just after the first GilFest in response to public demand. The café supports "pay as you feel" to allow everyone to come. We serve cakes, freshly brewed coffee, tea and juice.
We have a children's area and host crafting activities, a weekly knit and natter, along with food sharing from our Gilwern Grows plots.
What we need
We are in of need volunteers to help out with serving and clearing up on Tuesday mornings, and also looking for people who would like to run activities at our café.
Impact on the Community
The café provides a local safe space to meet other members of the community from all age groups, helping combat loneliness and strengthening social cohesion, with cake!
