Helping hands for the blind is a small local and friendly registered charity established in 2012 for people with sight loss in the Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.We eliminate social inequalities by providing help, advice and support for the blind, visually impaired, their families and carers. This can help to maintain their independence and improve the quality of their lives.We design, develop and deliver activities that benefit the blind and visually impaired community in Basingstoke.
Why the community needs usWe offer a range of support services to clients and their families including:Information about vision impairment and blindness, Help and advice on many issues;Benefits help, Daily talking living products, Befriending service, Assistive Technology and many other services.All designed to offer help people regain or maintain the ability to function independently after vision loss.
Our impact on the communityOur support helps people to deal with losing their sight and gives them a helping hand to move forward. We support people in overcoming barriers in independent living, employment, isolation, and education.
