Home-Start Wokingham District offers support to young families going through the toughest of times.

We are a small, local charity, offering a family support service to disadvantaged and vulnerable families in the Wokingham Borough, with at least one child under the age of five.

We provide friendship, emotional support and practical help to families facing challenges, such as illness, disability, multiple births, post natal depression, addiction, anxiety and isolation.

Why the community needs us
Our volunteers give families the regular guidance and encouragement they need to give their children a better start in life.

Our impact on the community
With our help families feel supported, less stressed and more able to parent their children. Volunteers help provide opportunities for children to learn through play and enable parents to feel more confident and self-assured. Parents are enabled and empowered to take control of their own lives which means less social worker and health visitor intervention.
