Why the community needs usThe Oasis Project caters for all ages from toddlers to 90 year olds. 'The place has something special, something that is not found elsewhere' Paul. We can give people our attention and concern as well as offer more formal activities some of which lead to qualifications.
Our impact on the communityVolunteers have moved into work or training as a result of working at the centre and have reported that they are healthier eg less reliant on prescribed drugs for mental health issues. Local residents including children and teenagers have tried different types of healthy food during classes and have improved their diet.Volunteers and service users have increased levels of self-confidence.'At the centre you are encouraged to be more than you think you can be'.
