We are a friendly inclusive internet cafe/resource centre in a deprived area providing groups and support for local people. The cafe sells reasonably priced freshly cooked food. The groups include:Job Club,Healthy cooking classes,Computer and literacy classes,Coffee mornings,CIEH Level 2 in Food safety. We run Messy Church (4.30pm on the first Friday of the month) take school assemblies, and provide personal, practical and prayerful support to anyone who needs a bit of help.

Why the community needs us

The Oasis Project caters for all ages from toddlers to 90 year olds. 'The place has something special, something that is not found elsewhere' Paul. We can give people our attention and concern as well as offer more formal activities some of which lead to qualifications.

Our impact on the community

Volunteers have moved into work or training as a result of working at the centre and have reported that they are healthier eg less reliant on prescribed drugs for mental health issues. Local residents including children and teenagers have tried different types of healthy food during classes and have improved their diet.Volunteers and service users have increased levels of self-confidence.'At the centre you are encouraged to be more than you think you can be'.
