Who are ‘City Youth’?
St Albans City Youth Community Football Club (STACY) was founded in 1971 and over 50 fantastic years later the Club continues to grow and evolve and plays a leading and dynamic role in our community.
City Youth can now boast to be one of the largest grass roots sports clubs in the UK with over 1,250 players across 100 teams and with an age range of 7-18 years for boys and girls and open age for our broad range of Inclusive teams.
‘City Youth’ became a registered charity in 2001 and in the same year the club was awarded Charter Standard Club status by the FA. The Management Committee, Team Managers, Coaches and Admin. assistants give their time on a voluntary basis as do our Trustees.
The Club continues to increase in size year on year and also to expand its wide-ranging community delivery in both St Albans and the surrounding areas. The Blue and Gold of City Youth is one of the most highly recognisable sporting brands in Hertfordshire and we are immensely proud of our reputation for promoting inclusiveness, fair play and expanding sporting opportunity, particularly for young people with disabilities.
What are our Values?
We aim to deliver ‘Football for All’ and to be a self-sustaining Community Based Club, providing sporting opportunities to children and young adults. The Club has 3 core pillars, our Girls, our Inclusive and our Boys sections each supporting the other.
We aim to teach young people to be competitive but fair and to display respect for the Club, for our environment, for our team-mates, managers, and coaches and crucially for themselves.
As a club we promote active and healthy lifestyles and educate our young people of the need for tolerance, inclusiveness and understanding.
