SCIP Youth

Throughout the Covid lockdowns we reviewed all our projects, and exhibitions, and recognised that our events were not attracting young people from our community. When we began to investigate the other arts provisions available in Seaford, and the surrounding area, we realised there was very little opportunity for young people to really get involved in contemporary arts.

Our SCIP Youth programme intends to create an environment where residents age 11 - 16 can have a say about how they access contemporary visual arts in their community, and be part of developing and designing SCIP exhibitions and workshops.

At SCIP Youth meet-ups members can enjoy learning new creative skills, hearing from industry professionals and developing a network of like-minded young people in their community. We believe our project can help develop confidence, social skills and support good mental health in young people.
