Opportunities for adults with additional learning needs
ValePlus is a charity based in the Vale of Glamorgan providing a day service for adults with additional learning needs. The charity operates from four locations, three in Barry and one in Llantwit Major.  The service we provide is to deliver an active timetable of learning with a wide range of topics to meet the interests of those who attend.  The emphasis is on lifelong learning, building self-confidence, increasing environmental awareness, healthy eating and emotional and physical wellbeing. We are very open to identify and enact new opportunities which fulfil these objectives.

Our Services

The Chapel
The Chapel on High Street, Barry is our main premises for delivering services. We provide a range of educational, social and life skill activities to enable service users to achieve qualifications, improve self-confidence and independence. The training is overseen and provided by qualified teachers.

Cafe No:5
Café No:5 on High Street, Barry is a training facility for our service users to gain a range of skills and qualifications in a catering environment. We offer a range of home-made meals and snacks, delicious soups, traditional breakfasts, cakes and Afternoon Teas, as well as barista coffee and many other drinks. Pop Up Shop The newest addition to our service is our pop up shop based alongside the Chapel in Barry. We make an array of craft items for customers to purchase including cards, jewellery and home décor.  We have monthly events where our students create items specific for that time so Valentines, Easter and Christmas. Pop in and see us anytime to take a look what's on offer!

Llantwit Outreach
Our Training Centre in Llantwit Major is a venue accessible to residents in the western or rural Vale. We provide a range of educational, social and life skill activities to enable service users to achieve qualifications, improve self-confidence and independence. We operate a Food Co-operative and are very much part of the local community.

R2L
R2L is based in the gardens of ValePlus. We support learners in developing their key skills which include digital literacy, communication, numeracy and literacy. We promote numeracy skills by using a variety of interactive programs developed especially for R2L. Most of our sessions use computers and touch screens where the students work on their digital literacy skills.
