Defibrillator Fund

ValePlus is the charity I work for which is based in the Vale of Glamorgan providing a day service for adults with additional learning needs. The charity operates from four locations, three in Barry and one in Llantwit Major. The service we provide is to deliver an active timetable of learning with a wide range of topics to meet the interests of those who attend. The emphasis is on lifelong learning, building self-confidence, increasing environmental awareness, healthy eating and emotional and physical wellbeing. I am running the Cardiff Bay 10k on Sunday 26th of March to raise money to purchase a defibrillator at our site in Barry. Early defibrillation before emergency services arrive can help double a person’s chances of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Having a defibrillator on our site would be hugely beneficial not only to our students but also the local community. Our nearest defibrillator is a 9 minute walk or 3 minute drive.
