At Cherished we work with young vulnerable girls and boys in schools both Primary & Secondary age. Through our 1:1 support, school workshops and after school groups, we provide a safe space for them to explore identity, worries, ambitions and relationships. Our aim is to help them grow in confidence, self-esteem and character, providing a foundation to make positive lifestyle choices and fulfil there true potential. Through a trauma informed approach we seek to create an environment for every young person supported by Cherished to feel safe, seen, soothed and secure.
Why the community needs us
We work with schools within Birmingham to help support young vulnerable girls and boys. Cherished works to be a preventative, to deal with any issues they may have and work through them together. We aim to recognise the signs of abuse, child sexual exploitation, bullying, anxiety and other sensitive issues and get them dealt with as effectively as we can. Hannah Simnett, the company founder has been recognised for her work in the community by the West Midlands Police & Soroptimists.
