Cycling for a Fresh Start – 1500km in 5 Days for Refugee Entrepreneurs
Imagine being forced to leave your home, your career, and everything you’ve built, only to start over in a foreign country. Refugees are here for a reason, and like any of us, they have the potential to make incredible contributions to the communities that welcome them – if given the chance.
To support this journey, I’m challenging myself to cycle 1500km in just 5 days, raising funds for The Launchpad Collective and their vital work (supported by academics from the University of Sussex Business School) empowering local refugees through entrepreneurial education. This programme equips people with the skills, confidence, and support needed to rebuild their lives, create businesses, and contribute positively to the communities that have offered them a fresh start.
Every kilometre will be a reminder of the courage and determination it takes to rebuild a life, and every donation will directly support this mission. Together, we can make a real difference, one pedal stroke at a time.

At 5am on the 3rd of August, I’ll set off from London, pedalling all the way to Edinburgh and then back again – a total of 1500km in just 5 days. That’s 300km every 24 hours, a distance I’ve never attempted even once, let alone five days in a row. I anticipate it might be a little challenging.
