I am taking part in the Leamington Wolf Run 2015 to raise much-needed funds for a project called Sharp Minds which runs for young people with mental ill health and social isolation issues.
These young people are amongst the most vulnerable in society and the Sharp Minds project provides an opportunity for them to meet in a safe environment with the opportunity to make new friends, try new things and benefit from the support of professional youth workers.
Most of the group have severe anxiety issues leading to eating disorders, self harm, a loss of confidence, family breakdown and a withdrawal from education. Some of them feel so desperate that they have even tried to end their own lives.
The Sharp Minds project has proved to be an invaluable in terms of supporting young people to get themselves into a more positive emotional place and instilling a sense of hope for their future.
As with so many youth work projects across the land, funding is an increasingly difficult task and more and more projects like ours rely upon the generosity of friends, family and a network of supporters to help raise the funds to continue our vital work.
We hope that you feel compelled to make a contribution - no matter how small - to help us to continue supporting vulnerable young people. Your support is greatly appreciated.
