Young People First provides support to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people living in Warwickshire. We are based in the Brunswick Ward of Leamington, and focus our work in the community there. Our vision is to inspire young people to reach their fullest potential and support them in overcoming the personal barriers preventing them from achieving. Our charity is committed to providing a long-term, holistic service which is centred on building positive relationships of trust with each young person and their family.
We spend time working in schools delivering mentoring, group work and reactive support for young people who may be struggling to access education. We deliver weekly youth clubs that are open to all, providing positive activities and good food for young people. We are also delivering detached youth work which is taking the youth workers out to where they young people are rather than expecting them to come to us, this way we can engage with and support some of the most vulnerable young people. We work closely with the families of our young people too, supporting them in many different ways, and signposting to further help where needed. We believe that this combination of support will have the most impact on the young people we support.
We have a small staff team who all work incredible hard for these young people. They each have different areas of expertise, but all work together as we strive to realise our vision of 'no young person limited by disadvantage'.
