Our daughter Grace has been selected by Pembrokeshire Weightlifting to compete in an international competition at Budapest, March 2020. To help raise funds for the team, Grace is taking part in a sponsored lift called the 30 minute Strength Challenge. The team will attempt to lift a total of 15,000 Kilograms in 30 minutes . All lifts are above head lifts .
The team consists of 13 junior weightlifters, developing junior coaches , junior technical officials and senior coaches .
The competition in Budapest is part of Pembrokeshire Weightlifting long term athlete development programme. The objective of the event is to continue creating a positive team sprit and ethos ; to develop trust and friendships within the team and with those from other countries from around Europe ; to learn about the local culture and to further develop platform experience at weightlifting competitions. With a long term aim of developing both the athlete and the person . Money raised will help to offset the costs of the event .
