On the 14th of July, my wife Linda, our good friend Shirley and myself are going to to attempt the National 3 Peaks challenge. We would like to raise funds for a local charity Age Connects NPT working in Glynneath.
The challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. Namely, Ben Nevis, Scaffell Pyke and Snowdon. The challenge is to complete all three in 24hrs.
Age Connects provides people aged 50+ with the assistance, support and services that are needed to live a healthier, more active and independent life. They make their services as accessible as possible and offer differing levels of support according to individual need. They help their service users plan for the future, prevent problems, find and use services, take part in more social/leisure activities and have a more active role in their local community.
They run Outreach Sessions every Friday morning at the Town Hall in Glynneath, for approximately 40 people. The sessions offer a safe friendly place for new friendships to be made and developed. There is also a craft section, a singing group and an hour of exercise. These meetings are full of fun. The group relies on donations from the public and the support of their clients to help maintain the group.
Thanks in advance for your donations.
