Aquadare will be run by volunteers. As there is no standing water there is no need for lifeguards so families can use the area without the risks associated with paddling pools. We will open, close and clean the site and weather permitting keep it open from Spring to Autumn. Again much better than the old paddling pool. There will be no charges for the area as we understand how tough it is to find something locally that is fun and affordable. We hope you will join us in making this happen.

The children of Aberdare are missing their waterplay! Our paddling pool was closed due to UK funding cuts we we decided to ask the people what they wanted us to work on. The decision came back - a Splashpad! So the idea of Aquadare was created. We wanted all children including wheelchair users to benefit and it works! Through a lot of research we have been able to find suppliers and costed out the project which will cost between £300k build.

There are 1000's of children in Aberdare that struggle to find things to do in the school holidays and around school hours. Aquadare will provide a safe fun play area for many to enjoy. The site is designed to be disabled friendly too as the surface is flat and made of soft rubber. We have spent the last 9 months putting in funding applications and trying to raise the funds through various fundraising events and we are over half way there. Your help would go a long way.
