¼ women and 1/16 men will be a victim of a sexual violence case.  46.4% lesbians, 74.9% bisexual women and 43.3% heterosexual women would report a sexual violence other than rape during their lifetime, while 40.2% gay men, 47.4% bisexual men and 20.8% heterosexual men would report a sexual violence other than rape during their lifetime
Before I left my teens, I was already a survivor. While I studied abroad in the UK, i was fortunate enough to be able to seek help . My story did not end the night my body was violated. My story is one of turning victim hood into survival. There are very few words that can describe the feelings of shame and betrayal that I felt that night but even fewer words can describe the shock of discovering that the men that claimed they loved me valued their power over me , over my own humanity.
I will no longer feel ashamed. And I will not allow them to continue to perpetuate violence in my life by keeping me violent and still. This is who I am and I will not just be a walking statistic. I’m not another number with a pulse. I do not want to be unique. I’m not unique. This happens to thousands of men and women daily and people will tell you that you’re nothing special because of it.
For my birthday this year - on behalf of the University of Surrey’s dodgeball society as its RAG officer-  I’d like to hold a small fundraiser to donate to RASASC. It is a  rape and sexual abuse support centre based in Guildford.  Their aim is to relieve the distress of people who have suffered rape and/or sexual abuse or assault, and to educate the public. They played a major part in my recovery and I can't imagine being as terrified of people as I used to be.They gave me a safe space to tell my story. They gave me a safe space to be vulnerable with no consequences.

I hope you guys can spare £2 at the least so that they can help many others just like how they helped me. This link will be running from the 29th until the 17th of February ♥

Thank you in Advance ♥
