Clarbeston Roads 60 Miles for 19 Days Challenge
We all hope you are keeping well during this National Emergency situation that we are all going through at the moment. Our thoughts go out to all of those affected by this crisis and our thoughts especially go out to those heroes on the front line in the NHS who are working day and night to keep our Nation Safe and Well.
Clarbeston Road Football Club's Senior Players have come together and have decided to do a joint fundraiser on behalf of our local NHS Heroes at Withybush Hospital and to also raise funds to keep our excellent football club, that has served the local community so well for 60 years, going.
All funds raised will be split equally between these two wonderful causes.
As a voluntary organisation, club costs are still being incurred, whilst the income stream to the club to cover these costs, as with many other sports association teams, has all but halted.
What will we be doing?
Senior Players of the Club will be completing a collective sponsored run, where between them they will aim to run, on average, 60 miles per day for 19 consecutive days to complete a target distance of 1140 miles. 60 is to mark the clubs forthcoming 60th anniversary, and 19 to mark the current situation with Covid-19.
All runs will be completed individually. They will be tracked electronically and the distance collated centrally to evidence completion. This will verify that we have met our target distance by the cut-off date.
The clock (and the players!) will start running on the 22nd April, and they will conclude at midnight on the 10th May.
It is also our hope that some of the committee members will help out with a mile or two!
We really appreciate any support you are able to offer us in supporting these two great causes.
Many Thanks
Clarbeston Road Senior Players
