Our community garden is used by many of our clubs and visitors. It's somewhere green and quiet where you can relax, meet others and feel at ease. Our goal is to make the entire community centre more integrated across all our users, and a well maintained and managed garden at the hub of the centre will provide this. Groups will also be able to take part in maintaining and looking after the upkeep of the area.
Why they need our serviceThe League of Welldoers is Liverpool's oldest independent charity. We provide a range of services for groups across the generations, from lunch clubs for pensioners to a boxing club and gym facilities for local young people. We've been a feature of Liverpool life for over a century, and we're at the heart of our communities. At our community centre, one of the areas which needs some care and attention is our community garden. This garden is used by everyone, and needs an upgrade!
Plan and expected resultsMonies donated towards the project will allow us to renovate the garden; to make it more accessible to all, and to keep and maintain it in a decent and fit condition. It will allow us to install planters across the walls and available space in the garden, and make the entire area a much more pleasant and colourful location, for the enjoyment of all the peoples and communities we support.
