Fill the bag, bring hope to someone’s heart

This Christmas, BCP is calling on our community to come together and make sure no child or adult faces the heartache of poverty, isolation, forgotten in their cold home. The cost-of-living crisis continues to hit disadvantaged and vulnerable local people hard, especially children and older residents — and our local charity has supported hundreds of families and individuals in financial crisis in Broxtowe this year. There’s been a continuing rise in urgent foodbag requests this year, now four times higher than last year - we need your support, because behind every request for help is a personal story of resilience, hardship and hope.

Our Christmas Appeal, Fill the Bag, Bring Hope to a Heart, invites you to be part of that hope. Whether you donate a tin, sponsor a meal, or fund a Warmbank session, your gift helps us respond quickly and compassionately to people in crisis. With your support, we can keep our foodbank shelves stocked, our amazing volunteers can offer hot meals through our community kitchen, and we can create safe, welcoming spaces for adults and children who need warmth and connection.

What your donation means to a family living in poverty:

  • £10 sponsor a foodbag for a household in crisis — enough for 3 days of meals

  • £25 fund a hot meal, Warmbank session and energy saving advice/activities for a vulnerable family

  • £50 two weeks of basic essential supplies, including food, nappies and hygiene items for a family with young children

Every donation of whatever you can afford — big or small — helps BCP fight local poverty and restore dignity and happiness to peoples lives. Together, we can make this season brighter for hundreds of residents. Together we can turn generosity and compassion into action.
