On Saturday 29th January I will be taking part in a 24 hour swimming relay to raise money to support the next steps in saving my beloved Jubilee Swimming Pool from imminent closure.
For 85 years Jubilee Swimming Pool in Knowle, Bristol has been a vital leisure facility for the whole community but is now under serious threat of closure with Bristol City Council proposing to shut the doors forever in March 2022.
The Friends of Jubilee Pool want to save the pool for those that love it, as well as for future generations so any money raised will go towards helping to bring it into community ownership.
Jubilee Pool is a much loved place that helps so many people in immeasurable ways. We simply cannot let it close! Therefore I am switching my glass of wine for a pair of goggles at 10pm on Saturday 29th January to do my part. Collectively we are trying to swim the length of Bristol to London, a whopping 10,000 lengths!
