About Our Place Support
Our Place Support is a community organisation delivering key services which support people during their time of need, this includes a Mentoring Scheme for children and young people dealing with social, emotional and mental health challenges and an Advice Service open to all people in North Birmingham who need help and support in housing, benefits and unemployment. We also run a Community Hub in the centre of Sutton Coldfield, a vital asset which provides access to over 20 different support services offering a wide range of help and advice.
All of our services have grown significantly over the recent years as we respond to the increased mental health needs of our children and young people and the negative health and financial impact individuals and families are experiencing as a result if the Covid pandemic and current Cost of Living Crisis.
The Event
The Royal Sutton Fun Run has been a fundraising event that has supported the work of Our Place over the last 11 years with many people taking part to raise the vital funds we need to continue delivering our services.
I have participated in this event a number of times in the past on a walk-run basis with freinds, collegues, my daughter and dog, but this year the challenge is different - for the first time I am aiming to run the whole course..... without stopping at the ice cream van! The 8.5 mile run takes place in Sutton Coldfield through local roads and Sutton Park.
I have set my fundraising target high and aim to raise £700; an amount I know will make a significant difference in helping us to continue our support to those that need it. If you can and would like to sponsor me, any amount is much appreciated.
