Our Place Support is a Community Interest Company. We have a vibrant Community Hub based in Sutton Coldfield which is home to a busy Advice Service, a Mentoring Scheme which supports people with social, emotional and mental health challenges and a Training Scheme offering accredited training for professionals.
Why the community needs us
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic our services continued remotely supporting indviduals by telephone, online and with postal resources. The demand for our support increased as people navigated the challenges associated with the pandemic including increased mental health challenges for both children and adults, financial difficulties, the loss of loved ones, lack of day-to-day structure for those home schooling and on furlough and the risk of homelessness for those unable to meet rental payments.
During this time we were fortunate to have secured grant funding to manage the uplift in our support services, as this funding came to an end we recognise that the needs within our community have not and we are now working at capacity in all services and working hard to increase our funding income in order to help us help more people during their time of need.
How you can help
We are still seeing a high number of new referrals every week to our mentoring scheme and advice service and are reaching out to individuals and businesses that want to give back to our community. In the next 12 months we are looking to raise £25 000 through fundraising activities/donations which will enable us to continue delivering our services and help us to increase capacity to meet community demand.
