I am taking part in the Goggins Challenge this weekend, running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours whilst helping to raise awareness of the essential role the Trussell Trust play in our local communities and raising funds for my local Trafford South food bank.
There are lots of ways in which you can help local people in your community who are currently living in crisis, from donating food, to volunteering your time or taking on a fundraising challenge. Use the following URL link to find out more about the fantastic work being carried out by the Trussell Trust and how you can get involved with the food banks in your local area https://www.trusselltrust.org
It’s heartbreaking to hear, especially in these COVID times that 1 in 5 of the UK population live below the poverty line and can struggle to put a healthy nutritionally balanced meal on their family table.
In the first six months of the pandemic, food banks in the network gave out 2,600 food parcels to children every day!
Stop and think about that for a minute and imagine what it must feel like not be able to feed your family...
What must that do to your physical and mental health!!!!
The thought that I’m contributing to help end food hunger for local families with your amazing kind and generous support kept me going through my training is definitely spurring me on to run 48 miles in 48 hours. Thanks for reading 😀
