The Mentoring Lab was birthed in St. Ann Jamaica, in 2011, where our founder, Elaine Thomas (dual British-Jamaican citizen) has family, friends and loyal community; who are now facing unimaginable devastation.

Right now, in St. Ann and across Jamaica, people are trying to rebuild their lives after Hurricane Melissa. But they're not just dealing with damaged roofs, they're facing despair, hopelessness, and the crushing weight of trying to rebuild their lives, whilst surviving on wages that can't cover basic needs, let alone disaster recovery.

With all the love in our hearts, we're raising funds to support The Mentoring Lab's Jamaica community, people who have been helping TML UK and their neighbours long before the hurricane hit:

Calvin: A civil servant earning a meager wage, yet still showing up every day to serve his community.

Karleen: A social entrepreneur running two elderly care homes where roofs have been completely blown off, leaving the most vulnerable exposed.

Ricardo: A St. Ann community leader fighting to keep hope alive when resources are scarce.

Michael Morris: A police officer in Calderwood St. Ann, going beyond his duty to help the most vulnerable.

These aren't people looking for handouts for themselves. Our Founder has seen they're already helping others. They have the skills, heart, and commitment to rebuild. What they lack are the resources to address immediate relief.

Our Goal: Provide immediate relief and long-term mentoring support so these community champions can help themselves and those they serve.

The Impact: Your donation doesn't just fix a roof,it restores dignity, rebuilds confidence, and renews purpose.

It tells these community helpers that their work matters, that they're not alone, and that together we can turn devastation into determination.

Please give what you can, selecting Gift Aid to help those helping their neighbours on the ground.
