At 6am on Sat 10th August 2024 I will make my 4th attempt at Race Across Scotland. This is a big 215 mile run/walk/crawl race, going coast to coast across the width of Scotland. The race is non stop over 100 hours (just over 4 days) & is from Port Patrick (west) to Cockburnspath (east) along the Southern Upland Way.
Up until now this race has been tougher than me! But this year I am going to conquer & I will run to remember my late Grandma Gina, and other children and adults like her, who have been subjected to rape, sexual violence and abuse.
My run is to say: I believe you & it was not your fault…
And to fundraise for RSVP (Birmingham & Solihull’s rape crisis service.)
After rape, sexual abuse & sexual violence children approaching RSVP for counselling wait up to 6 months, & adults wait up to 8 months. THIS IS FAR TOO LONG.
Anything you donate will enable RSVP to carry on increasing counselling provision & make counselling available to survivors much more quickly. Thank you for your big hearted support.
