Once again I will be joining 57,000 determined and dedicated runners in running the Great North Run 2022 on Sunday 11th September 2022, the World’s biggest and best half marathon famous for its warm North East welcome, unbeatable atmosphere and the millions raised for good causes.
This year is no ordinary year though, as I will be running in memory of a close friend of mine (Jay Harper) who I had to the privilege of knowing & running the Great North Run 2021 with last year but sadly we lost Jay the end of last year. (See photo below)
Please help me this year by raising funds for Magic Moments for Autistic kids a Charity close to mine and Jay heart.
“The aim of Magic Moments is to raise money to fund holidays, short breaks, day trips and recreational activities for autistic kids, their families and careers in North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.
Magic Moments is also there to offer support to all families and allow the siblings of autistic children to, for a short period have a taste of a ‘normal’ childhood.
In addition to providing ‘Magic Moments’ for the children, it also improves their self-esteem within the group and helps inject some sunshine into the very limited world of an autistic child.”
This will be my sixth year of raising money for this amazing charity, and it will be an honour to do so again in memory of Jay. Being able to make some kind of difference, and knowing that every single penny raised will go towards turning these children’s dreams into a reality, the single most thing that will inspire me and knowing it would of what Jay wanted.
It doesn’t matter how big or how little it may be, any donation really will have such an impact and would be greatly appreciated not just by myself but the amazing people at the charity too.
Thank you in Advance
Joe
