On the 8th March 2026, Leeds Beckett Womens Cricket Club will be walking an incredible 18 miles to support Leeds Womens Aid. Leeds Womens Aid is an amazing charity based in Leeds which focuses support for women and children affected by domestic violence and abuse (DV&A).
Formed in 1972, it is now the largest womens charity in Leeds and has done invaluable work around Leeds and the Humber area in helping both women and children to escape abuse and find their feet. They provide a range of outstanding services for vulnerable women and families who are victims and survivors of: domestic, sexual & honour-based violence and abuse; forced marriage; trafficking; stalking and harassment.
As a womens cricket club, we wholeheartedly believe in the ethos of Leeds Womens Aid, and the ideas and resources they work so hard to provide to anyone who needs them.
To show our appreciation for the vital work they do, we are completing an 18 mile walk from Headingley Central to The Queen Victoria Monument in Harrogate on the 8th March, which is International Womens Day. Any donations will go direcrtly to Leeds Womens Aid and anything donated, no matter how small, will make a huge impact in the lives of women and children all over Leeds and Humber.
If you feel like you need any of the services Leeds Womens Aid provides, or are worried about somebody you know, do not hesitate to contact Leeds Womens Aid at 0113 246 0401 or using their online chat available on their website at https://leedswomensaid.co.uk/
