The plan is for me and at least 40 women and men to walk 40 kilometres in one day. This is to raise awareness of Perinatal Illness, positive Mental Health through exercise and most importantly the work done by the wonderful charity Mothers for Mothers; who have their 40th anniversary this year!

This charity pretty much saved my life when I was in the throes of anxiety, depression and a complete inability to engage with life after I had my gorgeous boy Brendan in 2013. I believed that I shouldn't have become a mother, my mental health was broken and I was physically ruined after a difficult birth and emergency C-section.

Mothers for Mothers supported me, and the women who work there made me believe that I would become well again; something which I found difficult to believe at the time. Their support groups were a lifeline and I was able to bond with the mums who I met there,

It was a long road to recovery, but as they predicted I did get better and I now want to give something back by walking this distance along with 40 others on 12th June 2021.

I hope that you can help by contributing and making sure that the work of this charity is celebrated and they are able to continue providing their brilliant support to those in need.

If you want to walk on the day then get in touch!! The route will be around Bristol with legs of various distances.

Thank you! :)
