Hi, I’m Michelle – a proud Peer Mentor with the Popham Kidney Support team – and I’m taking on a Skydive (19th October 25) and Pen Y Fan (14th September 25) to raise vital funds and awareness for people living with kidney disease!

My journey with kidney disease began at just 16 years old when I was diagnosed with Reflux Nephropathy. After a decade of infections and antibiotics, my kidneys were slowly failing. Thankfully, my incredible mum was a match and donated her kidney to me in March 1998. That precious gift gave me nearly 24 amazing years. When it came time for another transplant, my amazing sister stepped forward and gave me a second chance at life in January 2022.

These life-changing experiences have inspired me to give back as a Peer Mentor – offering support, hope, and a listening ear to others going through the ups and downs of dialysis and transplants. No one should feel alone on this journey.

Now, I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone to raise funds so we can continue supporting people like me – and their families – through Popham Kidney Support.
