We are in urgent needs of funds and have had to temporarily close due to a lack of funding. We need to raise at least £10,000 before we can re-open the Fund. Help us to #SaveTheLifeline
The Migrant Destitution Fund supports destitute migrants with "no recourse to public funds" (NRPF). The policy, which is part of the government’s 'hostile environment', leaves people unable to access mainstream benefits and housing assistance and many face extreme destitution.
The Fund (administered by Macc) provides cash grants to those in Greater Manchester who have been left without a safety net. In the last 15 months we have given out 1,000 grants to people who have been left destitute due to this policy. We are now experiencing our own financial crisis and have had to temporarily pause the Fund. Without an increase in support we won't be there for the people who need us.
One recipient of the Fund shared why it is important:
"For 7 years I didn’t get any money. How am I supposed to live? Depression. I want to tell you that the Migrant Destitution Fund is helping us. It helps a lot for me. It helps with our mental health".
Until the government changes their policy and ends NRPF we need to be here. Help us continue to offer dignity, choice, and justice to people like Ruvimbo or Kamrul.
By donating today you can keep this critical lifeline open.
