As many of you know (particularly anyone who follows me on strava) i am not a natural runner and despise running to the extreme! However i do like a challenge - especially if i think i can't do it - so when it was suggested that i enter a half marathon i grudgingly accepted. It was also another thing to tick off the 40 before 40 list (even though i will technically be 40 already when i take part!)
Raising money for a charity is also a powerful motivator when things get tough. Imara is a vital organisation which supports children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse. As a psychologist, i have seen many times first-hand how sexual abuse can traumatise and drastically impact a child's life and future. It is so important that the children and young people of Nottinghamshire have the right support available when they need it most.
If anybody is able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be hugely grateful. Thank you!
