One Step At A Time is a collaborative walk between Good Grief Soham and Men Walking and Talking Ely taking place at 6pm on Saturday 20th June.
The walk is a chance for these two local projects to show their support for each other and raise awareness of the work they do.
As well as highlighting ‘one step at a time’ when life gets tough, the walk is also a celebration of friendship and collaboration and we hope it will be an opportunity to meet new people and enjoy conversation in the summer sunshine!
About Us:
I’m Laura Cox-Watson and with the support of the community, Viva and Tees Law Better Futures Fund we launched Good Grief Soham last October. This was inspired by my own experiences of loss and I wanted to set up a space that was supportive and inclusive for all ages and situations.
Good Grief Soham runs every 2-3 weeks at different times and days. We have a team of over 20 volunteers to help greet people, make cups of tea and provide listening support. We are a cosy drop in style café where everyone is welcome and we provide resources on grief and support that people can take away with them.
Our sessions take place at the Viva Theatre, Spencer Drove, Mereside, Soham CB7 6EE.
My name is James Clements and I am the Walk Leader for Men Walking and Talking Ely.
Men Walking and Talking is a men's walking group that provides a safe space for Men to open up about their Mental Health and support each other.
We provide the opportunity for Men to:
Exercise
Make Friendships
Talk about a personal problem
Or just want to talk about life.
We meet every Tuesday at 7pm at Barton Road Car Park, Ely CB7 4HZ
Sat 20 Jun 2026
We will be meeting at The Viva Theatre at 6pm on Saturday 20th June and will walk to Wicken (via the off road route) where we will stop for a drink at the Maids Head pub. We will then return to the theatre where we will share some cake! Approximately 6 miles. It is £5 to participate.
