I'm running Bristol Half Marathon on 14th May and having my head shaved the day before, in aid of Jubilee Pool & Gym in Bristol.
Bristol City Council wanted to close Jubilee Pool, but after a long, hard fight the community group Friends of Jubilee Pool took over the running of it in late September 2022 to secure this important community asset’s future.
The Friends Group knew it was going to be a challenge to raise all the funds for the major repairs to the building and machinery after years of neglect by Bristol City Council, but were not expecting the energy crisis to hit when it did. Due to the utility crisis majority of the fundraising over the winter has gone into paying for utilities rather than starting the major repair works that are needed.
I'd really be grateful for any sponsorship, no matter how small, for this great cause.
