Hello everyone! My name is Danilo Villanueva Navarrete and I am running to support Ammi’s Kitchen/Family voice. Ammi’s kitchen is a place where local women, from different cultures, come together to cook family recipes. This way, Ammi’s kitchen brings together women who are keen to share their culinary skills and access paid work. I support Ammi’s kitchen because I see people like my mom reflected in all their members, people that are really hard workers and put their family first. Sometimes this fight cannot be done in your own country, and you migrate to countries like the UK, with a different culture to what you have been used all your life. But there is one thing that does not change, and that is food, a universal language that can be enjoyed by many and can create connections surpassing words. Similarly, to people like me, it is that food that makes me remember my family regardless of the distance, and encourages me to introduce more people to my culture as well.
