Family Voice is a place based project at Common Ground Community Centre in Sheffield. Local migrant women come for accessible classes, support and events. We provide holistic support for as long as long as needed. We empower and listen. We provide information and advice. We give positive opportunities and reduce social isolation. Women come and their wellbeing improves as we help to reduce barriers to social inclusion, financial inclusion and health equalities. 

Reduced social isolation leads to a happier, more resilient and inclusive community. Women learn, meet and start their own networks in this safe environment. Their confidence and skills build and they find support in each other.  We have set up a food social enterprise www.ammiskitchensheffield.org to showcase women's culinary skills and build confidence, skills and a pathway to employment.

Together we continue to build on the fact that we have more in common than that which divides us.

Our impact on the community
We work with 350 women and their families in the local area. We make a positive difference through building a place where people are friendly, respectful, empathic, nurturing and trustworthy. In this way Family Voice helps to build community resilience.
