Out of the Darknes

Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday May 6th at  4:15 - Our Lady Star of the Sea Church to St Johns Light house and back - symbolises a desire to lift some of the stigma that surrounds suicide by bringing it out of the darkness.When the topic of suicide is out in the open we can talk about it.When we talk about suicide we have a much better chance of preventing it.
The walk aims to raise awarenes of the work of Suicide Down to Zero and much needed funds for the charity.
Suicide Down to Zero aims to eradicate suicide in our disrict through work with  communities,schools,sports clubs and workplaces.
Your donations will be used to demonstrate that suicide is not inevitable but preventable; to train caregivers of all types to spot the signs of suicide distress and ensble the individuals to keep themselves safe from suicide;to provide emotional and practical support to those who have survived a suicide and those who have lost a loved one or friend to suicide.
