On February 16th I will be embarking on a 120 mile walk across New Zealand recreating the Journey made by Frodo and Sam In J.R.R Tolkien’s The Lord Of The Rings, from their home of Hobbiton to destroying the one ring in the fiery mountains of Mount Doom.
Their trip took them a total of 6 months, something I will hope to complete in 7 days, starting in Matamata home of the Hobbiton film set and finishing at Mount Ngauruhoe the location used for Mount Doom. I have chosen Quilombo UK. Quilombo UK exists to challenge negative social norms and enable people to Think Differently. They use creative engagement to raise awareness and prompt discussion of difficult subjects and complex concepts, empowering people to Think Differently to generate positive social change.
