I am taking part in the Great North Swim and raising money for Special Olympics Sunderland. The event will take place on 7th June 2020 and involves a 2 mile swim of Lake Windermere. Special Olympics Sunderland is a sports club that offers teaching and coaching to both children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
I have been involved with Special Olympics Sunderland for the last 3 years. It offers a competitive and social environment for athletes, parents and carers. It is ran completely by volunteers and all money raised will help the volunteers continue the great work they do.
Donations will go towards competition and training costs for athletes as well as allow the club to offer more sports and coaching in the future.
