Stay Connected: A Lifeline for Asylum Seekers
Imagine arriving in a new country, alone, uncertain, and without a way to call your family.
For many asylum seekers in our community, a mobile phone isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline.
It’s how they stay in touch with loved ones,
Access vital services and access bus tickets,
Attend virtual appointments,
and begin rebuilding their lives.
Asylum seekers do not receive mobile phones as part of their standard support package from the Home Office.
They have no recourse to public funds and are not eligible for mainstream benefits .
They are not allowed to work.
They are provided with £49.18 to live on if they are provided with Home Office accommodation with no meals. When meals are provided, the cash allowance falls to £9.95 per week.
So we are asking for your help.
We are raising funds to provide basic smartphones and data plans to asylum seekers to help them stay connected. Every donation helps someone reach out to a parent, a child, a friend—or simply feel less alone.
£40 can buy a refurbished phone. £15 can cover a month of data. Every pound counts.
Help us restore connection, dignity, and hope.
Donate today and give someone the power to stay connected.
