I am going to be doing a tandem skydive which involves jumping out of an aeroplane at an altitude of 13,500ft, freefall for 45 to 50 seconds, reaching speeds of over 120 mph... then hopefully the instructor will deploy the parachute and I'll get to steer!
I am doing this for a charity called S.H.E. UK, based locally in Mansfield. S.H.E. UK offer a range of support services for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, exploitation and sexual violence. These services include support groups, creative therapy, peer support, courses, 1-to-1, crisis therapy and support in many other areas. All this made available by the amazing staff.
The reason I am donating to S.H.E. UK? I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and S.H.E. UK have been absolutely brilliant since I joined last year. I still have a long way to go but I am already in a much better place and it's all thanks to this amazing charity :)
