Oxford Half Marathon for SAFE!

I have taken on the challenge to participate in the Oxford half marathon on Sunday 16th October 2022. I will be running to support SAFE! which is a small Berkshire based charity.
This charity is close to my heart. They support my daughter Summer, who is 15 and has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) & PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Summers story;
Summer was 10 years old when she was caught in a devastating terror attack. That day she went from being a happy confident child, to a scared, fearful, withdrawn girl.
Summers PTSD started around May 2021, she has flashbacks, anxiety and paranoia. Summer has suicidal ideation which has resulted in many suicide attempts. PTSD has robbed her of being able to function and consumes her life.
"I remember running with my baby brother thinking we were going to die. Robina is helping me to put a positive spin on things I find difficult and she's taught me that it's ok to not feel ok"
Summers story was written with her consent. 

Robina from SAFE! started her one to one sessions with Summer, which focus on well-being, positive thoughts, and help rebuild confidence after a traumatic event -caused by crime. SAFE! has helped not only summer, but my family to come to terms with moving forward.

I want to give back to this charity, as their support giving children a focus after a crime, is paramount to a child's well-being. Waiting lists for NHS services are at an all time high, charities such as SAFE! are so important in the work they do and bridge a gap until help or therapy can be offered through the NHS.
