In November 2020, thefoodpeople launched the TFP Foundation as a charitable embodiment of our purpose - to use food as a force for good by supporting food, health and education in children and young people.
Through the TFP Foundation we donate 1p in every £1 of revenue, we give content, time and run specific fund raising projects, to ensure that we shift food provision and food education in schools by partnering with the fantastic Chefs in Schools. Since launch we've donated over £120,000 to support their incredible work.
Chefs in Schools is on a mission to transform children’s health through food - plate by plate, class by class, school by school. The charity trains up school chefs and kitchen teams to make tasty, exciting and affordable meals that are packed with fresh, local produce. Using proven and innovative models of onsite and blended training, they help to put food education at the heart of a school. Over the last six years, the charity has transformed food and food education in 130 schools and provided workshops and training for 160 more, reaching over 100,000 children across the country, focusing on areas with the greatest need. Their vision is for every child, regardless of age, income or location, to experience a varied diet and exciting, fresh ingredients in school, laying the foundations of a life-long love of nourishing food.
