On Friday 20th March 2020 staff and sixth form students will be ‘sleeping out’ with just a sleeping bag and cardboard box in the Heart of Hatton to raise much needed funds and awareness for the local charity The Daylight Centre. We will be sleeping out from 8pm-7.00am, as we face the challenge of leaving our creature comforts for one night for this worthy cause.
Sir Christopher Hatton is consistently the highest performing academy in Northamptonshire for the Progress 8 measure and in the top 1% of schools nationally. We are Wellingborough’s only Outstanding Academy and 1 of 4 in the County. We have a very active student body who are committed and focused on raising awareness and funds for this local charity, which we have previously supported annually with food bank donations. You may also be aware that in December a homeless Wellingborough man was sadly deceased, hence why our student body felt that this was an important and prevalent local issue.
Any funds raised will go directly to the Daylight Centre.£1 could provide four cups of tea. That’s four chances for someone to sit and chat, to have time to be listened to, and to find the support they need. £10 could provide hot meals for five people, giving them the energy to get through the day. £35 could provide one days worth of rent and heating for our hall, giving our users a space that is warm and welcoming £50 provides 2 hours of consultation with professionals who can real make a difference to lives.
